This year is the 50th running of the Marine Corp Marathon. Sterling Rescue has been supporting The Peoples Marathon since the 1990s with resources to attend to the over 40,000 runners and the many thousands of spectators who come to support their runner. It is a major undertaking and requires a ton of resources to make this a successful event from around the region.
With an event like this you need to be prepared to cover all possibilities, and it requires a lot of logistics and planning. Kudos to and a job well done to Arlington County Fire, DC Fire and EMS and the NCRIMT team, along with all the other fire/EMS agencies, law enforcement, and medical personnel for another successful race. We supported the event with our Bike Team, UTV, and an officer.

Sterling Rescue’s Bike Team, now known as our Special Events Team, started in 1995. Over the years it has supported many other events in the region to include Presidential Inaugurations, the National Park Service on the National Mall on the 4th of July, the 150th anniversary of Battle of Gettysburg and Manassas, the Dulles Plane Pull, and many other special and community events.
