On Thursday, May 12, 2022, Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad was recognized for their outstanding service by Loudoun Cares, a local public service organization. Each year this organization honors and awards Loudoun county citizens who provide endless hours of volunteer time to the community through various organizations and or on their own. This year, Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad’s 150 volunteer members were recognized for responding to 8,200 calls for service in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time of great uncertainty and risk and when citizens were told to isolate, the volunteers of Sterling Rescue continued reporting for their duty shifts and responded to the public’s calls for help.
