Congrats to Meghan, our Newest EMT Attendant in Charge!

Congratulations to Meghan, Sterling Rescue’s newest Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Attendant in Charge (AIC)!

With a diverse healthcare background, Meghan is now nationally and Virginia-certified EMT. She completed the additional training required by Loudoun County to be recognized as an AIC (an independent provider who can lead an ambulance crew responding to emergency calls). This requires additional training and demonstrating assessment, patient care, and operational skills during many actual calls, under the supervision of an experienced provider.

Meghan grew up in Sterling and joined SVRS because she wanted a broader scope of healthcare experience. As Meghan put it, “While I was away for several years with school, it was always my personal ambition to get back to this area and provide care to the local community. My only regret is that I did not start sooner!”

Meghan is currently a ER technician at a major local Level-1 trauma center. She graduated with a bachelors degree from Virginia Tech and a masters from Tulane. She plans to continue her education in healthcare.

We are so happy to have Meghan with Sterling Rescue and as part of our Day Crew operating from Station 625 in the Cascades Safety Center.

In addition to EMT training, Sterling Rescue also offers the opportunity for Advanced EMT and Paramedic training to qualified members who wish to advance their emergency medical service skills.

Want to join a great team and work with people like Meghan? Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad currently has openings for both operational and administrative volunteers. The operational volunteers serve as first responders, delivering emergency medical support to the community. The administrative volunteers perform a variety of support roles in areas such as recruiting, membership support, and business operations. No experience is required, and training is provided.  https://sterlingrescue.org/join/
