On the evening of 12 May 2020, Sterling Rescue welcomed home one of its own, Lieutenant Sam Neglia, (who is the President of Sterling Rescue and a Paramedic), after 28 days of being hospitalized following an exposure to a COVID-19 patient during an incident.
The officers and members of Sterling Rescue would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of INOVA Loudoun Hospital for the compassion and care they provided to Sam while he was in the hospital. In addition, we would like to thank Loudoun County Fire Rescue and the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company for the support that they provided.
It is reported that Sam is eager to get back on the unit and continue serving the community, and it’s humbling to know that we have so many dedicated members like Sam within Sterling Rescue serving during this pandemic. Thank you to each and every one of our members that continue to volunteer shift after shift through these unprecedented times.
