Today, Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad (SVRS) presented our local Firehouse Subs Regal Center with a plaque of appreciation for a recent grant that allowed us to purchase a Lucas device. This life saving tool standardizes chest compressions in accordance with the latest scientific guidelines. It provides the same quality for all patients and over time, independent of transport conditions, rescuer fatigue, or variability in the experience level of the caregiver. By doing this, it frees up rescuers to focus on other life-saving tasks and creates new rescue opportunities. Now, thanks to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, every ambulance at Sterling Rescue is equipped with a Lucas device.
In attendance for the presentation were Suzanne Volpe, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors – Algonkian District; Marc Engelking, Managing Partner of Pickle Bucket LLC dba, Firehouse Subs; Jen Ferguson, President of Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad, Stephen Grant, Vice President of SVRS and, Steve Radich, President Elect, Sterling Rotary Club.
Thank you Firehouse Subs for helping us save more lives in our community!
