Members of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad attended the 7th Annual Medical Special Operations Conference (MSOC) sponsored by the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) from 16-19 May 2019 in New York City. For the past seven years, the MSOC has been an event where military, federal, state, and local medical responders can share their experiences, best practices, and ideas. In addition, members also took part in courses such as Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (to include a Hands-On Active Threat Scenario), Advanced K-9, and the MSOC Wilderness Medicine Course. Members also had the opportunity to attend a keynote presentation titled “Thai Cave Rescue”, a case review of the highly publicized cave rescue of a junior soccer team and their assistant coach in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.
Want to join in on the learning experience? Sterling Rescue is always looking for new members to provide 24/7 EMS support to the community (and we provide FREE training). Check us out at our Join Section.
