On October 29, 2023, Sterling Rescue supported the 48th running of “The People’s Marathon,” providing a Paramedic-staffed Gator Utility Task Vehicle and three two-person bike teams. Sterling Rescue supported Arlington County Fire and Rescue in an effort that draws support from rescue resources throughout Northern Virginia, providing responsive support to the Marine Corps Marathon and demonstrating the region’s ability to operate with multiple jurisdictions in a unified command environment. More than 23,000 runners from all 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico and 63 countries were registered to run. The number of runners was nearly double the amount of last year’s event, following the pandemic, organizers said.

Sterling Rescue participants were Erik Hanna, Special Events Lead; Dan Ambrose, Matt Kucik, Sarah Lindquist, Al Molina, Kate Passow, Danielle Peterson, Mike Seppala, and Kyle Sommer.
