One hundred twenty-six members of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad received the President’s Volunteer Service Award at the Gold, Silver and Bronze levels for their volunteer service to the community in 2022. Each member received a commemorative coin with a letter and certificate signed by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.
Inspired to volunteer and want to join a great team? Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad currently has openings for both operational and administrative volunteers. The operational volunteers serve as first responders, delivering emergency medical support to the community. The administrative volunteers perform a variety of support roles in areas such as recruiting, membership support, and business operations. No experience is required, and training is provided.
